We blend Montessori, socratic discussions, outdoor challenges, play therapy, apprenticeships, Ikigai, gaming, and fun camp competition styles of learning to ensure that each learner is able to master core skills at their own pace. Wilmington Outdoor Microschool learners will not only be masters in reading, writing, arithmetic and world views, but will graduate knowing who they are.

We believe that one of the biggest predictors of success is grit. Grit is passion and perseverance for long-term goals. As Rocky Balboa says, "It's about how much you can take and keep moving forward." Our learners are measured by their effort and true mastery as opposed to arbitrary grades. When kids learn that failure is not fixed, they are more likely to develop long-term stamina.
